Ridgeway written by Jane Stockdale
Lark spin the blue air,
Weaving words on high
Climbing across the hill,
We’re reaching to the sky.
I’m a trader, a drover,
A stranger on this road,
I’ll take the path that meets the clouds,
Always carrying my load.
I’m a pilgrim, a horseman,
I come to leave my coin
At the chamber of an ancient god,
To a strange land I am joined.
Lark spin the blue air…
I’m a soldier, defender,
A guardian of this land,
Watchful across the hills,
In weathers all I stand.
I’m a fisherman, a farmer,
A forester by trade,
I work until the sun dies,
A living to be made.
Lark spin the blue air…
And there is no beginning,
No end, just here we stand,
I’m trader, stranger, drover,
Rooted to this land.
And there is no beginning,
No end, just here we stand,
I’m trader, stranger, pilgrim,
Rooted to this land.

The Flither Girls

The Flither Girls they climb down to the shore
Risking their lives for one basket more
Fishes love flthers, turn silver to gold
Reaping the harvest from deep in the cold.....
Fishing with long lines
A thousand hooks or more
Winter brings long lines
Fishing far from shore
The tide it can't wait
There's so little time
They must gather the bait
To draw the fishes to the line
All the way from Staithes
Down to Robin Hood's Bay
Mile after mile
Walking every day
Seeking precious flithers
Oh, the mussels have all gone
Nature can't renew
The damage has been done
Skaning and caning and whipping of hooks
Shown in sepia photos and history books
Is this all that is left of our fisherfolk lives?
The trawler men have stolen it, from under our eyes

Carry written by Jane Stockdale
I’m following the green stream
Up the mountainside
I’m following the long path to the hills
I’m walking by the ocean
To the castle through the snow
I’m letting my mind travel to a place it often goes
And I carry your heart with me
And I carry your heart with me
I’m walking through the streets
Of a place I used to know
Far away from now away from here
I’m searching for tranquillity beside the deep, deep lake
I’m resting my soul quiet for a while
And I carry your heart with me
And I carry your heart with me
We’re following the green stream
Up the mountainside
We’re following the long path to the hills
We’re walking by the ocean
To the castle through the snow
We’re letting our minds travel to a place they often go
And I carry your heart with me
And I carry your heart with me
And this is the wonder that keeps the stars apart
And this is the wonder that keeps the stars apart

SPRING written by Chris Bartram Copyright 2007-2008
I know that winters can be long
But this one seems to have gone on and on and on and on,
Thought I was losing everything,
When suddenly…..here is Spring.
It’s Spring…
And now I welcome each and every day,
I’m living proof there always is another way,
I’m so glad I remembered when I was shut up in winter’s box,
That songs are made of keys – and keys can open locks…
It’s Spring, it’s Spring…
And I’m so sad to hear you’re feeling low,
But you do not have to do the whole thing on your own you know, and
I would give you everything,
Give you the greatest miracle of all.. I give you…
I give you…
I give you Spring.

White Sail written by Jane Stockdale
There’s a white sail on the horizon
There’s a spring tide, bringing you home
There’s a seabird, caught in a spiral
Weaving your name, high in the blue
There’s a memory, words being spoken
There’s a hand held, down by the shore
There’s a promise, a forgiveness
There’s a white sail, bringing you home
And the storm past, brought home driftwood
The autumn tide, brought the cold
The winter sea broke the shoreline
The year turned to dark, growing old
There’s a white sail on the horizon
There’s a new dawn painting skies blue
There’s a memory and a new story
There’s a time past and time still to come
There’s a white sail on the horizon
There’s a spring tide bringing you home
There’s a memory and a new story
There’s a time past and time still to come
And time still to come
And time still to come
